  • Enflurane, also called by its trade name Ethrane, is a clear and colorless volatile liquid anesthetic that has been utilized to produce anesthesia since the 1970s. Another of the highly halogenated anesthetics, enflurane is entered into a person's bloodstream without balanced anesthesia. The ability of a patient to awaken from a state of unconsciousness induced by enflurane occurs faster than with halothane but slower than with isoflurane.
